Brown and Blue, Brown and Gold

This afternoon I assembled these lovely piles of fabrics, for a new project.  Browns and dusky blues on a milky-coffee-coloured background.  I am not sure which fabrics will make the cut, but I really like how restful they appear without being boring, (IMHO anyway).

Speaking of browns, Rory had a exciting package arrive from”The Hawks Nest” this afternoon.  He was straight into it after school.

He is so excited to have his own footy gear in the Brown and the Gold – my side of the family has supported the Mighty Hawks for generations.  Rory starts Auskick this weekend (The Australian Football League’s Junior Coaching Program).  Don’t let that nonchalant look fool you, he is bursting with excitement.

I think I will need to make another “Davo” for Rory to hang on his school bag – he is really into supporting his team.  This little guy, I made over two years ago, has fallen apart.  Are you passionate about a team at you place?  Do you like their colours?

*NB.  Not all members of the family are crazy about the Hawks – Luke is a Blues fan, and Luke’s Mum is an extremely passionate Cats supporter.  I seem to know lots of Hawks/Blues couples, which is funny, because when I was growing up they were locked into a battle for supremacy for years.  Can you tell that my home town is the home of Aussie Rules?!
