I love your welcome sign! And the desk skirt looks pretty - much better than those wires! I'm not reading anything at the moment (except blogs!) but I do have some books on order from Amazon that should be arriving soon, so I'm looking forward to that.

was a great night last night even with the unexpected power outage! such lovely gifts were exhanged.
you are doing a great job with decorating your new house. I have a 'fish' tank in my front room that I often look at and think it needs a nice skirt to hide the underside.... i could then use it for more storage!! ohhh another ufo in the offing!

As it happens, I have just finished a beautiful book called 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Burrows. Odd title I know, but it's about the German Occupation of Guernsey during WW 2 and the power of reading good books to make the heart lighter. Sounds heavy but is in the form of letters and done with such a light touch. I found it 2 weeks ago on a cruise boat on the Nile (of all places). Just shows how the right book falls into your hands so often. Magic! Happy New Year Claire and family.
