Anzac Day

Aussie Countryside

They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them. Lest we Forget

This is the verse of the ode that is said during the minutes of silence on Anzac Day.

For the sacrifices that have been made, and those that continue to be made, by the men and women that serve their country, and the families that they leave behind, we are grateful.

  1. That’s a lovely photo Claire – so very Australian. It makes me think of a wonderful film that was on ABC a few years ago – love letters from a war – about a family who lived in the north of Victoria and the father went away to fight in the Second World War in North Africa – the story was told through the letters he and his family sent each other – beautiful story, terribly sad. Where they lived looked just like this. Thank you for sharing the Anzac Day Ode – a perfect end to the day.
